College of Engineering and Technology, Payyanur was established in 2011. The College was initially affiliated with Kannur University and from 2015 onwards it became affiliated with A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) in Trivandrum, Kerala. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, which attests to its adherence to national standards of technical education. Furthermore, the school's Architecture division, offering the B.Arch program, is approved by the Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi, ensuring the quality of architectural education.
