College of Engineering Attingal was established in the year 2004 by Institute of Human Resources Development(IHRD). It is an autonomous educational institution and the institution is under Government of Kerala. College of Engineering, Attingal has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education and is an affiliated institution under APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University (KTU).

The college has 4 year Engineering courses with different specializations namely Electronic & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. For admission to UG programs is conducting on the basis of the All Kerala Common Entrance Examination, conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Govt. of Kerala. The criteria for B.Tech admission is prescribed by the CEE, Government of Kerala and concerned university.
The college has well furnished classrooms with comfortable seats. Experienced and highly qualified faculties are conducting the classes. The institution has a good spacious library having wide collection of books, reference materials , journals and magazines which are highly beneficial for the Engineering studies. College offers separate hostels for boys and girls which provides safety and security among the students. Hostel warden undertake the responsibility of students.
