Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences is a budding Medical College started by Government of Karnataka in the historical city of Gadag. Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences was started during 2014 in 54 acres of land, in the premises of District Hospital at Gadag. The Institute is located near the Mallasamudra village on the way to Laxmeshwar from Gadag.
The institute is fully equipped with Laboratories, Museums, Examination Hall, Auditorium, Lecture Halls, Central Library, Staff and the Teaching Faculty. Construction of the Gymnasium will be completed soon. Central Library provides a wide collection of medical literature including Books, Journals, Reference Sources, CD, DVDs and pamphlets to the faculty and medical students. A reading room is available in the Central Library which will be open for 24 hours. A teaching hospital with 350 beds is attached to the Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences. Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital has the goal is to provide optimum care to the patients by using advanced medical technology, to serve economically weaker sections of society and to produce socially committed Doctors. Fully equipped separate Hostels for Boys and Girls are available. Semi furnished rooms with adequate light and ventilation, 24 X 7 hot water supply, well maintained and hygienic kitchen, parking area for two and four wheelers, well equipped recreation room and gymnasium, large and spacious TV room and regular vigilance by the anti ragging squad is also available.
