Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College was established in 1986. Upgrading the existing District Government Hospital which was started on 1917 in a span of 150 acres land. The college is under the affiliation of The TN Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, State of Tamil Nadu, India, and is wholly administered by the Government of State of TamilNadu. The Institute is a Medical Teaching Institute Recognized by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi, India.
The College includes modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, a library, and a computer lab. The teaching faculties are experienced and dedicated. The College has the faculties who create a friendly atmosphere with the students. Students have access to study materials in different form such as books, research journals, magazines, newspapers and e-books at well furnished library. In laboratories, technical skills is developed on the basis of lectures, demonstrations, seminars, group discussions, practical training on patients. The College has the hostel facilities which provides best service and facilities to the students.
