Established in 1984 by the Government of Kerala, Govt. Polytechnic College Pala embarked on its educational journey. Initially, the institution began with an intake of 15 students each in two branches: Electronics Engineering and Instrument Technology. The Computer Engineering diploma course was introduced in 1985, expanding the programs offered. In 2013, Electrical and Electronics Engineering was added, bringing the total number of programs to four with an intake of 240 students.
