Karpaga Vinayaga institute of Dental Sciences was established in the year 2007. The College is recognized by the Dental Council of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India and is affiliated to the Tamilnadu DR MGR Medical University, Chennai.

The College has State of the art clinical facilities in all dental specialties equipped with 200 electronic dental chairs, Air conditioned classrooms (Smart class) and seminar halls, State of art preclinical labs equipped with patient simulations, Wi-Fi enabled campus, Cafeteria for students and patients. The library boasts of dental literature in the form of textbooks, journals, and periodicals. It has e-library facility that provides access to e-books, CD-ROMs, and e-journals through high-speed internet amenity. The campus houses well ventilated spacious hostels for girls and boys separately.
