The Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2002 and is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and sanctioned by the Government of Kerala, leading to the B.Tech. Degree of the University of Kerala and Kerala Technological University.

The college has B.Tech courses for several specializations such as Civil Engineering , Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
The college has qualified faculties for conducting the classes. Well furnished classrooms with comfortable seating are available to the students for better studies. The library has a wide collection of books, journals and reference materials in Science, Engineering, Technology, Humanities, Social science and Management. The college has daily subscription of national and international magazines and journals. The college has modernized laboratories for practical sections. College uses latest and advanced equipments and technologies for imparting more skills and knowledge to the students.
MBCET provides separate hostel facilities for men and women. Students get healthy and nutritious food in hostel. Well-furnished, spacious and air cooled rooms are available for the students. College provides adequate medical facilities in case of any emergency.
