The institution initially commenced its operations in Morattupalayam near Tirupur in 1982 and later relocated to its present premises in Karumathampatti in 1989, as per Government Order 1002 dated 7.8.89.
The Tirupur Education Foundation, the institute's sponsor, has a successful track record in managing various reputable educational institutions, including Tamilnadu College of Engineering and Park College of Engineering and Technology, both located at Karumathampatti.
