The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a comprehensive undergraduate program that integrates traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern medical knowledge. The curriculum typically spans a duration of five and a half years, including a one-year internship. Students undergo a rigorous study of foundational subjects such as anatomy, physiology, and pathology, alongside specialized courses in Ayurvedic principles, herbology, and traditional diagnostic and therapeutic methods. The program aims to equip students with a holistic understanding of Ayurveda, emphasizing preventive, promotive, and curative aspects of healthcare.
