Established in September 1981, the primary mission of this institution is to provide high-quality technical education to students in rural areas. Initially offering three-year Government Aided Diploma courses in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, the college expanded its offerings to include Electronics and Communication Engineering and Metallurgy from 1983-84. Agricultural Technology courses commenced in 1984-85, followed by the introduction of self-supporting courses in subsequent years. Notably, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgy Engineering have been part of the curriculum under the Self Supporting Scheme since various years, contributing to the diverse educational landscape of the institution
