Taranath Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Bellary was a Government institute before 1976. Earlier the college was managed by private trust started in the name of Taranath Ayurveda Vidyapeet. College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, Karnataka since 2004. The institute is recognised for admissions by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), New-Delhi and approved by Dept. of AYUSH, New Delhi.
The College has a well sophisticated Library with good volume of Books covering all the subjects and references. The curriculum typically spans a duration of five and a half years, including a one-year internship. Students undergo a rigorous study of foundational subjects such as anatomy, physiology, and pathology, alongside specialized courses in Ayurvedic principles, herbology, and traditional diagnostic and therapeutic methods.
